This Saturday (March 15) is the grand re-opening of Trivelli’s Philadelphia Style Cheese Steaks and Hoagies, now at 2819 North Nevada (three doors north of their old spot and next to the Navajo Hogan.) After 38 years at its former location, the beloved closet-sized sub emporium (a customer of Ranch Foods Direct-supplied Philly steak meat for many years) is celebrating the new roomier dine-in and patio venue with food, music, fun and prizes from 11 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Proprietor Steve Trivelli (shown above) bought the business from his parents when they retired ten years ago; he is now carrying the restaurant torch for the rest of his clan (brothers Tony – who now lives in Florida – and musician/writer John exited the biz in the years since Ranch Foods Direct ran our first story on the trio a decade ago.) Expect Saturday’s event to be as much reunion as celebration: Steve’s mom and brothers, as well as his wife and daughter, son and grandson, will all be there to toast his success and cheer on the shop’s next chapter… just like you might expect from a big boisterous heart-warming Italian family!
