A class on glass

Ranch Foods Direct customer Debbie Lacey was working as a speech/language pathologist when an art teacher introduced her to the craft of making glass jewelry.

Now you can find her shiny glass pendants for sale in the store for around $30 each. Debbie credits RFD’s neighboring business, Full Spectrum Art Glass, located 3 blocks away at 828 East Fillmore – and owned by Coral Cornish – with helping develop her creative interest. “It’s just a fun place to play with glass,” Debbie says. “Coral teaches over 80 classes a month. You can learn to do stained glass, fused glass and glass mosaics, and she’s very reasonable on her prices.”

Using the store’s supplies, tools and kiln, it’s possible to make a wide range of items, including dishes, sun-catchers, garden stones, even ornaments. The close proximity to RFD adds another benefit for this avid RFD customer: “I can’t remember the last time I bought meat anywhere else,” Debbie says.
